Network, Network, Network
This past weekend I got to go to a blogger event in La Jolla, CA hosted by Cabe Partners and I had a blast! I got to meet so many amazing individuals who all had a different story to share. Even though the heat & humidity were almost unbearable, everyone was dressed to impress. I loved all the different trends and vibes that were happening. I saw a lot of two piece sets, platform shoes, and rattan bags. Everyone looked amazing rocking their style.
Aside from everyone's great style, it was so nice to meet people face to face who I have been interacting with on instagram on a daily basis. Its so fun to put the face to the instagram handle and meet these people in real life. It creates an appreciation for their content and all the hard work that goes into their blogs, instagram feeds etc. I cant wait to continue to build those relationships and continue to network and be inspired by all the local bloggers.
This event reminded me how important networking is! It is always so hard (at least for me) to put yourself out there not knowing a lot of people. I also find it hard to make new friends in a new city post college. Everyone does their own thing and you really have to put effort into reaching out to people and building your network post grad life. Going to events like these is really beneficial because most of the people attending are looking to network too!
Whether you're growing your instagram, blog, starting a business or just want to meet new people, going to events like these will definitely help you reach your goals. Not only will you meet people from the gram, but you might find a mentor or a business partner or a best friend. You never know! It's definitely worth the risk and I will be working on putting myself out there more, reaching out to the people I met to get coffee, and truly foster the relationship and stay connected. I met around 10-15 new people and I learned so much in the short amount of time I was there so I can't even imagine what I could learn from everyone if I take the time to sit down and learn their story. I am challenging myself to go on a coffee date once a week to 1. put myself out there and break out of my comfort zone and 2. to meet other creative individuals who will inspire me and who will want to help each other grow.
Happy Monday all and hope you have an amazing week! As always, show some love in the comments with ways you break out of your comfort zone.
