Holiday Campaign tips and tricks
Hi babes,
Tis the season… to start planning for holiday campaigns! It’s that time of the year when brands are working on, if not finalizing, their holiday campaigns. Q4 (October, November, December) is usually a very busy time for content creators, bloggers, influencers, etc…
Here are some tips on how to elevate your holiday pitching and things to keep in mind:
Start pitching NOW!
Brands start to prep for holiday at the beginning of Q4 (October) or even earlier
Typically bigger campaigns for holiday sales
Black Friday campaigns + holiday
Pitch an idea / concept
Send the brand an idea of how you’d want to collaborate with them
Even if a brand’s campaign is full, they may have left over budget and like your idea
Raise your rates
Don’t forget to charge for exclusivity (check category)
Ex. Campaign for earrings - exclusivity should be for earrings, not jewelry or accessories - that is too broad - unless the brand is willing to pay
Charge a rush fee
If a brand is requesting a quick turn around time (2-3 days), you can add a rush fee as you may have to adjust your schedule to meet the deadline.
Brands are aware it’s industry standard to charge more for holiday campaigns, don’t be afraid to charge $$$
Increase your rate by 20%
Reach out to brands you’ve previously worked with
Think back to your past successful campaigns
Reach out to brands you’ve developed a relationship with over the year
See who people have collabed with for holiday campaigns in the past (this is why it’s good to have an saved ads folder to reference)
If you don’t hear back, follow up!
Brands inboxes are starting to fill up!
Be strategic
Send emails Tues - Thurs (Mondays / Fridays are typically busy days starting / ending the week)
Schedule send emails for 7am so you are top of the inbox
Follow up - we love streak!
Follow up within 3 days
Start posting holiday related content so brands know you are open to it
Sorry ladies, summer is over
Start posting holiday themed content
Ex. home decor, outfits, beauty tutorials for holiday parties etc
Ex: skincare / makeup related to attract these brands for holiday
Make sure your bio is ready to go
Add your email - on desktop, IG doesn’t have an email button
Add your location - sometimes campaigns are target to specific locations
Make it as easy as possible for the brand rep to contact you, otherwise they may pass
Reaching out to new brands
Again - send a concept! Brands will appreciate the effort
Send any previous work you’ve posted about them
Send insights of a previous successful campaign
Don’t feel down if you getting hearing “NO”
This time of the year feels crazy
Some brands have already filled the rest of the year’s budget
Keep pitching - it’s a sales game
If you see someone posting a campaign with a brand, reach out to that brand
Don’t Stress!
The holidays are already stressful enough
Set goals for yourself
Just do your best - that’s what matters
Don’t compare yourself to others
I hope these tips are helpful and encouraging during what can be a very stressful time! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below. Happy “early” holidays!
Xx, Allysa
