This blog post has been requested so I just wanted to compile a list of ways you can make money on social media as a creator and how important it is to have multiple streams of income and not just rely on Instagram or one platform in general. Here’s a list of ways I currently generate income and hopefully this can help you come up with ways as well, especially if you’re wanting to go full time eventually!

10+ ways to generate income:

1. Sponsored Content

   • Brands pay you to post on your socials based off of your engagement rate, analytics, etc

   • You can pitch via email or brands will reach out to you directly (or through PR companies)

2. Content Creation

   • Brands pay you to create content specifically for them

   • You aren’t required to post on your own channels

   • Videos, ads, photos for their websites etc

   • This is where you are charging usage rates

3. Modeling

   • Standard hourly rate starts at $100/hr

   • No usage rates involved

4. Affiliate Marketing

   • LTK, magic links, etc 

   • You earn a small commission when someone purchases from your links

   • The % ranges depending on the platform and retailer

5. Platforms

   • Aspire IQ, Fohr, Obvious.ly, #PAID, etc

   • Sign up on collaboration platforms to be considered for brand campaigns

6. Blog

   • This is the platform that you truly own

   • If instagram disappeared, what would you do?

   • Some people sell ad space

   • You can do sponsored blog posts

7. Create a brand

   • Product Based - My brand Summer Buns

   • Service Based - An Agency

   • Podcast (ads)

   • Host Events

8. Other Socials

   • Pinterest, Youtube, Tiktok etc

   • You can cross promote and build your audiences on other platforms to generate $$$

9. Poshmark / Depop

   • Reselling clothes

10. Provide a service (coaching, courses, ebook etc)

    • I used to have a course called Pitch & Get Paid

    • Might turn it into an ebook? Should I? Let me know!

11. Presets

    • Not as popular as it once was, but creators are still making signature presets to sell

12. Buffalo Exchange

    • To help clean out your closet, go to your local Buffalo / Platos closet and make some extra cash

    • Ex. I can take two bags and make around $200

      $200/1 mo x 12 months = $2400
