Hey babes,

Hopefully if you’re reading this, you have big dreams of working with your favorite brands. Or, maybe you don’t really know who you want to work with as an influencer yet, but you’re starting out and want to know how to get a brand’s attention. Either way, these tips are how I have landed my favorite partnerships with brands like For Love and Lemons, Revolve, Nasty Gal, etc. Let’s dive in!

Genuinely Support the Brand

+ Brands have back end software that they use to see who is authentically tagging their brand. This is a way for them to see who could be a good fit for a genuine partnership.

+ Buy from the brand if you have the means / if you genuinely love them and tag them on socials

+ You should want to work with the brand because you genuinely love them and not for the money. You won’t succeed in the industry if you only care about money because your audience’s’ trust is the most important and if you’re constantly posting ads, they won’t trust your opinion.

Pitch Yourself via Email

+ Don’t wait for a brand to reach out to you

+ How to find the contact:

Brand Website - then to the contact us section, see if there is a PR / collab contact, if not, just reach out to the help contact and ask for the best email to reach out to

LinkedIn - Search for the company and then search the employees and try to find a marketing contact or PR.

IG DMs - You can always dm the brand ask who the best contact would be to reach out to

+ I downloaded a plug in called STREAK and it shows me when the email I sent was read. This is helpful to know when you want to follow up

+ Send your media kit (if you don’t have one, you can create one on my website MY COLLAB KIT)

+ Create a moodboard on canva (download images from pinterest) and show the brand the idea you had for a campaign you’d like to create

Look at their feed + see what type of content they post / look for

+ Is their feed similar to yours? Would they be able to repurpose your content on their socials?

+ Create content that could be beneficial for them and send it to them

+ Work on content creation and ask if their are opportunities there

Follow the Brand + Authentically Engage with Them

+ Authentically Engage: Like their posts, leave thoughtful comments, respond to their stories

+ Get them to notice you with different interactions

+ Don’t dm a brand saying you love them & their product if you don’t follow them. It looks tacky.

Have a Friend Introduce You to the Brand

+ Only ask this person if they’re your friend

+ If your friend gets a collab that you would also be a good fit for, you can ask them to make an introduction to the brand where they cc you on the email.

+ Relationship building is important!

Hopefully these tips are helpful when it comes to landing your dream collab! Brands always appreciate the effort and seeing content creators going above and beyond to show they genuinely love the brand. Another thing I would say is to not forgot to FOLLOW UP. Following up is huge because brand reps get so many emails daily, they could have read your email and then been distracted by something and then forgot about it.
