How to Elevate your Content and Get Brand's Attention

Hey babes!

Welcome back to the good ‘ol blog. I’m loving today’s topic and I’m excited to share these notes with you all. These are ways that I’ve been trying to improve my content to get brands to notice and want to work with me in different aspects.

You can listen to the podcast episode HERE

HOW TO GET A BRAND’S ATTENTION:

Different ways to work with brand:

  • Content Creation - you create images for the brand to use, but you don’t post on your own social channels

  • Modeling opportunities - the brand hires you to model at a photoshoot (you don’t have usage rights)

  • Collabs - you stand brand collaboration partnership where you get PAID to create content and share on your social channels

  1. Lighting

    • Lighting is KEY

    • Good lighting makes the biggest difference in a photo

    • Don’t force it, if it’s not there, try again on a different day

    • Make sure your lens is clean (dirty = haze)

    • Not too bright, not too blue etc

    • Key factor in getting you get reposted by brands as well

  2. Location

    • Scout locations in advance

    • Downtown city vibes have been working really well for fall

    • Consistency in locations seems to help

    • Make it look as if it’s part of your everyday life and less posed

  3. Get Creative

    • Use props (coffee, newspapers, flowers, your car, etc)

    • Save inspo from pinterest, magazines etc

  4. Look at the brand’s aesthetic

    • Very important!

    • What kind of backgrounds do they use?

    • Simple posing or creative

    • If you want to work with a brand, create similar content as them

  5. Posing

    • Practice makes it easier

    • Try new things

    • Move around to get the candid shot

    • Save inspo on IG and pinterest for ideas in the moment

    • Try to switch it up: sitting, standing, leaning, walking, ½ body shot etc

    • Props always help

Hopefully these quick tips help you elevate your content! Brands will definitely start to notice and reach out. As we always say, Instagram is the long game and you just have to keep at it! If you ever have any questions you can always dm me on Instagram or leave it in the comments below!
